Receptionist - Bilingual
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides excellent service to patients and visitors by answering phones, checking in of appointments, responding to patient request, needs, problems, issues and concerns. This position will create a warm and friendly environment; creating an experience that reflects Affinia Healthcare in a positive, helpful and informative way.
Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
Experience:
- Three (3) years of experience in the performance of responsible secretarial or clerical work required.
- One (1) year of experience in a health care setting preferred.
Skills and Abilities which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:
- Must be Fluent in English and Spanish particularly in the areas of Speaking, Reading and Writing
- Enthusiastic, friendly, discreet and professional demeanor.
- Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in open waiting room environment, balancing answering phones and attending to waiting room situations.
- Ability to multitask and work cohesively in a fast paced office environment.
- Good computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to problem solve, demonstrate good decision making skills, and work independently.
- Must be flexible, show initiative and capable of working under pressure and getting along with a diverse population

Essential Functions
- Greet and direct clients and visitors to proper clinic locations.
- Sort mail and faxes; maintain meeting room schedule.
- Answers, screens, and transfers all incoming calls.
- Responsible for maintaining professional front desk, waiting area and signage/boards.
- Monitor patient flow and notify Health Center Manager or Registration Supervisor of problems.
- Contact nursing staff when clients arrive for triage.
- Prepare or edit Word or Excel documents as assigned by Health Center Manager.
- Assists in administrative task including filing, log maintenance and data entry of patient information.
- Arrange for patient's transportation needs as necessary.
- Maintain schedule for center meeting rooms.
- Order and maintain needed office supplies.
- Respond to patient complaints by referring to the appropriate person.
- Take and forward messages for all staff that are not available, as needed.
- Schedule same day appointments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
