RN - Infusion

POSITION SUMMARY: Manages the set-up, equipment/tubing changing and discontinuation lines. Assesses patient vital signs and monitors adverse reactions throughout the infusion process. Administers medications and fluids via an intravenous (IV) line or venous access port. Ensures patients receive the appropriate IV for the treatment ordered, selects and manages the appropriate equipment, maintains arterial catheters, assesses the patient's response to intravenous therapy, and observes for potential drug complications are all central duties of the infusion nurse. You will be working with COVID positive patients and are required to be vaccinated.

Education: Associates degree in nursing; Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred

Experience: Minimum of five years' experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting or a dialysis setting preferred.

3. Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience.
4. Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
5. Must have meticulous documentation skills.
6. Skilled in performing venipuncture.
7. Possess extensive pharmacological knowledge.
8. Must be aware of proper infection control protocol.
9. Must have a steady hand.

License(s)/Certification(s) required: Licensed as an RN in the state of Missouri

Essential Functions

1. Administer fluid therapy and medication
2. Keep infection control and prevention a top priority
3. Monitor patients' IV lines and medication
4. Collaborate and communicate with ordering doctor throughout therapy
5. Perform line maintenance and troubleshooting
6. Prevent and control infection by keeping a close watch on the insertion area
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
