OB/GYN Physician

POSITION SUMMARY:  Perform the duties required to assess and treat general gynecological and obstetrical conditions in an office setting as well as in the hospital for continuity of Affinia Healthcare patients.

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited school of medicine.
• Board certified or Board eligible in OB/GYN.

Experience: 

• Complete OB/GYN residency.
• Experience in an urban health setting preferred.

Skills & Abilities: 

• Requires strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability, skills, and knowledge to recognize, and treat patients of that specific specialty.
• Has the leadership ability to coordinate a Specific Project or Service.

Residency and Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.

License(s)/Certification(s) Required:

• Missouri State Medical License
• Missouri BNDD and Federal DEA
• DEA X-Waiver - Preferred
• Basic Life Support/ Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation

Essential Functions

• Conducts OB/GYN clinic sessions; including prenatal and family planning. May include Centering Pregnancy.
• Performs deliveries/surgery at hospital (s).
• Examines and treats patients. Diagnoses problems and refers patients for further testing and/or treatment. 
• Consults with specialized physicians regarding patients.
• Prescribes medicine as appropriate.
• Cooperates in preparing claims for third party insurance billing.
• Provides medical supervision to medical staff/residents as needed.
• Provides telephone consultation to health center patients and share on-call coverage.
• Participates in record review and quality assurance program.
• Maintains Affinia Healthcare's clinician best practices.
• Maintains productivity and quality standards established by federal guidelines and Center's Quality Assessment Committee.
• Participate and lead team based care which may include collaboration with a nurse practitioner or physician assistant within scope.
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Women's Health Nurse Practitioners or Physican Assistants (Up to 6)
• Physician Assistants [Up to three]
• Students / Residents / Volunteers
