Family Practice Nurse Practitioner

POSITION SUMMARY: Perform the duties required to assess and treat common GYN problems, normal non-complicated obstetrical patients and adult and medical problems; provide children and adolescent care in a Primary Care Setting. 

Education:   Masters Degree, Bachelors Degree and graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.

Experience: Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.

• Ability, skills and knowledge to recognize and treat adult patients, children and adolescents and routine OB/GYN patients.
• Strong computer skills with capability to utilize Electronic Health Records.
• Ability to multitask and work cohesively in a fast paced office environment.
• Enthusiastic, friendly, discreet and professional demeanor.

Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.

 License(s)/Certification(s) Required: 

• Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri.
• Current Advanced Nurse Practitioner Certification

Essential Functions:                        

• Provides treatment for the appropriate number of patients as outlined by the Affinia Healthcare standard and skill level.
• Makes appropriate referrals.
• Sutures laceration, removes foreign bodies from the ear and nose, provides splinting, and completes incision and drainage.
• Provides life support and emergency evaluation/care in response to life threatening situations in the absence of the physician and/or other appropriate health professional.
• Compiles complete and interval health histories on clients of their specialty.
• Performs complete physical assessment as well as physicals directed towards episodic or interval concerns for pediatrics as well as adults to include, but not limited to, pelvic, rectal, male genitalia and prenatal exams.
• Selects, performs and/or interprets the appropriate routine laboratory and diagnostic tests specific for that specialty.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding physical and mental health to include diet, health maintenance, therapy, normal growth and development, and family planning.
• Maintains appropriate records; utilizes the tracking system to follow up on patients.
• Responds to calls from patients and hospital staff, during nights, weekends, and holidays based on the call schedule in effect.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
