Associate Director, Health Center Operations

POSITION SUMMARY: Perform the duties required to coordinate and monitor provision of medical services in a professional manner for each individual patient. Assigned administrative authority,

responsibility and accountability to carry out assigned duties.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education:      Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred 

Experience:     Three (3) years as an RN in community clinic, public health nursing, and/or hospital setting. Three (3) years prior management experience required.

Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.

License(s)/Certificate(s): Licensed as RN in the State of Missouri, CPR. 

Essential Functions

  1. Coordinate and monitor provisions of medical services.
  2. Assist providers, take and record vital signs, abnormal results, distribute sample medications and administer injections per provider's orders.
  3. Triage walk-in clients, call-in clients as appropriate for patient care and safety.
  4. Keep patients records; complete appropriate forms and reports. Provide appropriate documentation. Adhere to patient confidentiality.
  5. Monitor exam set-up.
  6. Provide health education and counsel patients and family members in provider instructions and treatment program. Coordinate nursing care plans with other team members.
  7. Initiate the referral of high-risk patients and families for special services, team management, and track the patient's referral (i.e.) abnormal lab results.
  8. Observe sign and symptoms, document and report reactions of the treatment to the provider.
  9. Act as liaison to Director of Health Center Operations and nursing staff; function as resource person.
  10. Assist in the development, implementation, and achievement of goals and objectives.
  11. Provide input for evaluation purposes.
  12. Perform routine audits of health center departments, i.e. Women's Health, Adult Medicine to evaluate compliance with policy and procedures.
  13. Oversee the orientation and training of new employees.
  14. Conduct clinical teaching modules and evaluate possible learning gaps.
  15. Assist with staffing assignments and communications.
  16. Lead nursing staff huddles and identify areas of improvement.
  17. Assist with patient and provider concerns.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Health Center Operations.

Marginal Functions:

  1. Participate in evaluating and planning for existing and new services.
  2. Assist in the orientation of physicians, nurse instructions, students, volunteers, and other staff.
  3. Support compliance of all regulatory standards
  4. Contribute to the implementation / evaluation of Care Standards as specified by the established regulatory bodies and Quality Improvement

 

Supervises:      Clinic Nurse Coordinators, Clinic Nurse Facilitators, LPNs, Medical Assistants, Health Center Support Clerks, Health Center Receptionists
